Here are all the available IAQ Monitors on the market 2019 Q4. There are so many devices out there but they all lack innovation and they all offer exactly the same technologies. Companies had better hear users feedback!

If you read my blog frequently you will know by now that I am constantly trying to find a face mask that fits perfectly around my face and keeps my internal organs (lungs, heart, brain, etc) away from PM2.5+ pollution. I have already found a mask that does that in previous review but I wanted to try IQAir Mask because it looks even more comfortable and lightweight. Let’s find out!
Finally, an air quality monitor that focuses on Radon indoor pollution. Many of you have asked me to review an AQM with a radon sensor and the most famous of all the Airthings Wave which comes in various versions (Wave, Wave Plus). In this review, I am featuring the Airthings Wave Plus.
For those who hear for the first time about Radon, it comes from the radioactive breakdown aka decay of naturally occurring Uranium found in most soils. As a gas in the soil, it enters buildings through small openings in the foundation. Since radon can easily be trapped inside buildings, indoor radon concentrations can increase to many times that of outdoor levels. When radon gas decays, it emits radioactive radiation in the form of an alpha particle/waves and Airthings Wave can measure those alpha particles/waves. I don’t want to enter into details about the health effects on this post but Radon is found to be the second most common reason for lung cancer (after smoking).
It is said that words are powerful. I feel it is time to create a word that will describe the social movement in which we all want to breathe clean air and that it is the only correct way to live.
For example, there are words which describe the way of living through food, like veganism or the word alcoholism which describes the habitual intoxication or feminism a doctrine that advocates equal rights for women.
To do this, I have to invent a word which will be widely adopted from the society.
Most of this kind of terminologies use the suffix -ism.
-ism is a suffix in many English words, originally derived from the Ancient Greek suffix –ισμός (-ismós), and reaching English through the Latin -ismus. It means “taking side with” or “imitation of”, and is often used to describe philosophies, theories, religions, social movements, artistic movements and behaviours.
Then in Ancient & Modern Greek the word breathe translate as ἀναπνέω and it is written as anapneo with Latin characters.
As a result, anapneism is a compound word that describes the only correct way to live which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of air pollution and people take side with the clean air social movement.
To sum up, anapneism means I want to breathe clean air.
Is this the right way to move towards awareness?
The ingenuity and the inventiveness led DJINN Sensor — a Belarus company — to build an Air Quality monitor a bit different from the rest in the market.
Software-wise and hardware-wise the device offers some engaging features like solar panel case in order to harvest energy from the Sun and Productivity Current and Index analytics, to name a few. Let’s take a closer look at the AQ Monitor.
The Call for Volunteers was a great success and I had the chance to learn from you a little more about the problems of air pollution around the globe and the situation each one of you faces. From Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, India, Romania, Italia, France, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, UK, Finland, Serbia, Spain, Ireland and many many other places. It wasn’t an easy task to select the 10 volunteers as all of you gave me good reasons. I want to THANK YOU all, it really means a lot your offer to raise awareness on such an important problem.
I have prepared a quick guide on how to install a SMOGGIE on an outdoor wall in 9 easy steps with images. The SMOGGIE is rainproof for this reason you just need to install them with the opening facing down.Read More »
The Monitor it is getting more mature over the time. In this post I am presenting you the 3D case which you can download for free and print in a 3D printer of your choice.
I have designed the case on my own, and I have taken into account all the necessary parameters to make it practical and functional.
It will please some of you to know that I am going to compare Atmotube Pro with other Particulate Matter sensors and monitors. First with an outdoor monitor and in this case the Luftdaten DIY and second the AirVisual which is more of an indoor monitor.
Before I begin with the comparisons I want to dive a bit deeper and tell you that apart from exporting the .csv from the app directly, you can also access Atmotube’s .csv files (in case you have an iPhone) from the File Sharing service iTunes provides when you connect your phone with your computer (macOS & Win). This way you have more control over which days you upload to your computer.
Thanks to uRADMonitors generosity and determination to beat air pollution I am going to give away 10 uRADMonitor SMOGGIE.
I am searching for Volunteers all around the world who are willing to install an Air Quality Monitor in their backyard or balcony or window or any other outdoor environment in order to build a better air quality network and to help you raise awareness in your neighborhood/ community.
Wearable or portable devices are not so often considered important in order to protect yourself from air pollution. Most ads claim that we spend 90% indoors and we need an indoor AQ Monitor which is true but we also move around we go to work or we visit friends and family who don’t have an AQM in their house or simple they are not aware of the problem.
Here comes the new Atmotube PRO a small portable AQM equipped with a laser scattering PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 sensor. It also features a VOC sensor and a complete weather station with humidity, temperature and barometric sensor.Read More »
